Top of the Notch Spring Break

The last few nights, as I've tried to figure out how to sum up Moab, have been nothing but pure bliss as I reminiscence my adventure. I created memories that I hope I'll never forget. Made friendships I never knew I would and I wouldn't trade those friendships for anything. Even better I got to see Delicate Arche and Canyonlands! It was beautiful and incredible to think how all of it was formed by salt, rain, shifting of mountains, rocks and the earth. Ah it makes me really excited when I think about the science of it all! But none the less, we had so much fun! And I've got an exciting news that I'll share at the very last part of this blog.
The first day was great. I got distracted with signing and dancing in the car that I missed the Green River Exit to Moab and I ended up driving an hour and a half more. Good thing Jessica noticed later or else we could have ended up in Colorado. We did make it to Goose Island and pitched our tent. We made Hobo dinners, mine was basically all burnt, and then Jessica and I went on a beautiful run. That topped off our first day. Not too bad for four girls camping on their own.
Thursday I had woken up at 4:30 because I heard noises that scared me and my imagination started running... And I psyched myself out so hard I couldn't move. I stood still for hours until I finally decided to wake everyone up. We  got up and ready pretty quickly. We stopped at Matrimony Spring and had the others marry Moab. Then we went to Arches National Park. Nothing but beauty! I can't even describe it enough to really do it justice. The hike up to Delicate Arche is 3 miles up hill and down hill. It's pretty gruesome if you're not in shape. I learned later on from my incredible friend that it was difficult for her, but she persevered because the end result was all she wanted. That's what kept her going. So she could see Delicate Arch. My respect grew for her then because I didn't have a hard time with the hike and had I payed attention to my friends and not me I could have seen that in them. When we got there it was incredible.
The over view of the national park was incredible and Delicate Arche was more grand than I had imagined. It was nature showing off her true beauty. We went to a few more hikes and it was a great way to end a beautiful day.
We had some friends meet up with us and they fed us. Good thing because had I cooked anymore dinners for myself I'm sure I would have gone hungry because I burn everything I cook!! Seriously! But I'm learning slowly.
Friday Jessica and I went on a magnificent run! She did a really good job and had we had more time I would have kept on running and she would have followed. She's a good running buddy. She pushes me to be a better runner. When we got back we loaded everything up and went to the Sand dunes. MAN!! The hike up the dune was steep! I felt like it was a straight up shot to heaven! We only did that once because...we did. We ended up burying my legs into the sand. I got to be a mermaid for a few minutes.
Then we went to Canyon Lands!! That was beautiful! There was this dirt road that went all the way around the canyon, about 100 miles 'round canyon, and I wanted to take it because it looked super fun to drive, but no one else wanted to. But the view was beautiful! Once again, words won't do it justice. Then we want to this cute waterfall. The water was freezing, but felt really good on my foot, pulled something in my foot a bit ago, so you can imagine how good that really felt.
Then we ditched the others after we got back from the waterfall and went shopping. After that we decided we needed to take a shower because we felt disgusting. So we did, I may have sounded creepy and weird when I called to ask if we could take a shower...but we got a shower and that's all that mattered.
Our plan was to leave early Saturday morning, but we were sitting in my car when I said that we should just pack up and leave. So we started packing up and got everything in the car and we left around 9:30ish. And off we drove. We had a great time talking about our trip and other stuff. I just about had a heart attack when Savannah screamed because she saw a bunny run in the middle of the road. We ran into snowstorm, crash, and no subway. Other than that everything was just GRAND! I seriously feel like I'm on top of the world! Spring break was too kind to me. It's one of those breaks I'll never forget! Top of the Notch Spring break for sure!
What a great Spring Break it was for me. I'm grateful for the girls who chose to come. I never would have thought I'd grow a fondness towards them. And Jessica being the great best friend  was good about putting up with me. Our friendship definitely grew even more. I got to know everyone on a different level. I'm so grateful for them being true to themselves and for being examples to me. Seriously spring break was too kind to me. I'll have those memories to laugh over for the rest of my life. Especially all the inappropriate and appropriate jokes. My Life is beautiful!!!
..........

.......And I have nominated Savannah to be my traveling buddy when no one else wants to go do something spontaneous and last minute.
